Fall 16 Trend - Jacquard

When it comes to Fall fabrics, this season it doesn't come more appropriate than jacquard. Jacquard's were revolutionized in the 18th Century and since then have always been synonymous with richness and depth - so it is easy to see their relevance in luxury fashion. Woven with traditional patterns, often in metallic yarns, jacquard was the fabric of choice for many of the top luxury brands when showcasing their A/W 16 collections. Seen on the runway at the likes of Gucci, Prada and Burberry Prorsum, this season jacquard's are woven with traditional floral motifs and Oriental decoration. Colours are apt for Fall; Bordeaux, Red, Olive and Oxford Blue.
Jacquard is a fabric largely reserved for our Autumn wardrobes, as it has nods to the festive season, meaning that many people are unsure how to wear it as we do not see it during the rest of the year. As jacquard is a fairly bold choice, the key to styling is to keep the rest of your outfit paired down. Team a jacquard skirt with a classic knitted top or polo-neck. If you opt to wear a jacquard dress, then keep accessories simple; a black pair of heels will complete your outfit perfectly. This way you are making your jacquard pieces versatile enough to be worn during the day. Shop my edit of the best premium jacquard pieces currently available...
