Last night the SAG Awards took place in Los Angeles. I have put together a review of who wore what on the red carpet...
Janelle Monae - Chanel / Amy Adams - Brandon Maxwell / Emma Stone - Alexander McQueen
Kate Hudson - Christian Dior / Claire Foy - Valentino Pre Fall 17
Sophia Bush - Marchesa / Taylor Schilling - Adaem / Nicole Kidman - Gucci
Salma Hayek - Gucci / Sophie Turner - Louis Vuitton
Kerry Washington - Roberto Cavalli / Natalie Portman - Dior / Brie Larson - Jason Wu
Kirsten Dunst - Christian Dior / Naomi Harris - Lanvin
Maisie Williams - Charlie Brear / Kaley Cuoco - Marchesa / Rashida Jones - Vivienne Westwood
Emily Blunt - Roberto Cavalli / Taraji P Henson - Reem Acra
Giuliana Rancic - Yousef Aljasmi / Teresa Palmer - Valentino / Sophia Vergara - Zuhair Murad
Thandie Newton - Schiaparelli / Ariel Winter - Mikael D
Michelle Williams - Louis Vuitton / Michelle Dockery - Elie Saab / Yara Shahidi - Naeem Khan

My Best Dressed - Top 5
1. Amy Adams wearing Brandon Maxwell - An elegant and statuesque red carpet worthy gown.
2. Sophie Turner wearing Louis Vuitton - The Game of Thrones star is consistently nailing the red carpet, thanks in large part to her stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray. She has worn multiple Louis Vuitton looks recently, could she be heading towards being the new face of the French brand?
3. Natalie Portman wearing Dior - yet another perfect maternity red carpet look. Oversized bell sleeves are also a key trend this season.
4. Kate Hudson wearing Dior - Kate never puts a foot wrong on the red carpet and this Dior creation was no exception. Sequins, tulle and an embellished poppy motif added interest to this gown.
5. Thandie Newton wearing Schiaparelli - The level of embellishment on this couture gown was exquisite. A real standout red carpet moment.

Seasonal Colourboard - Aubergine

Rich and alluring warm shades of aubergine, with strong purple hues, are an invariable sartorial choice for A/W. This sublimely flattering colour works exceptionally well across several design disciplines. For fashion, aubergine looks sumptuous on velvet and silk, and for interiors it works equally well on soft furnishings and wall coverings - adding a sophisticated level of glamour to your living space. Inspiration can be found in a number of places: on the runway, in nature, the arts, interior design and food. See below for my aubergine moodboard...

Brand To Know - Cinq a Sept

New fashion brands can be ten a penny these days, but once every few months a brand catches the attention of industry insiders and begins to rise in the style stakes. Making its debut for Pre-Fall 16, just a little over a year ago, New York based brand Cinq a Sept is making serious waves in the world of fashion. Taking it's name from the French term for 'late afternoon', Cinq a Sept bases it's collections around the perfect ensemble for evening escapades. When the sun has set, and work is done for the day, where will the night take you? - cocktails, dining or dancing! Cut from beautiful silk, the collections speak to women who want sophisticated attire that can be worn with ease. The collections are both confident and daring with their prints and striking silhouettes. Cinq a sept has already been given the Hollywood seal of approval with countless stars already gracing the red carpet wearing the brands versatile pieces. Fans include: Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart and Ashley Tisdale.
See the below edit for my top pick of the latest Cinq a Sept collection. Stockists include: Intermix, Farfetch, Saks, Neiman Marcus. Price Range: £250 - £1700 , but with most pieces around the £500 mark this is an affordable everyday luxury brand.

On Trend Now - Patent

Switch up standard leather this season and instead opt for Patent. This high fashion, glossy leather is the ultimate slick Fall fabric. Taking to the catwalk at the likes of Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Anthony Vaccarello and Tome - patent brought a rebellious spirit to the runway. Largely seen on outerwear for a maximalist look, and also on daywear pieces, this season patent is best served on a dark ground. Think black, burgundy or deep red for sultry sophistication.
It is not just on the runway where patent has grabbed all the headlines. Fashion savvy street style stars, bloggers, editors and celebrities have been snapped throughout the season wearing some of the most coveted patent pieces - Isabel Marant's A/W 16 collection being a key point of reference. Alexa Chung's patent trench coat for Marks and Spencer also flew off the rails, with everyone desperate to own this key sartorial coat (see below edit for ref). This trend is not for a shrinking violet - uphold the rock'n'roll attitude with a vintage band tee, statement knit and killer ankle boots. See below for a who's who of some of the best patent loving street style stars...
If you want to unleash your inner rebel, then take a look at all the best luxury and highstreet options currently available. The highstreet has some incredible designer dupes for this trend, so if you are unsure if you want to invest in this trend you can readily find some affordable options. Patent is also a great choice for eveningwear, so anything you own in this material will be a staple in your wardrobe for many seasons to come. As always, accessories are a great option. Key Brands: Shrimps, Charlotte Simone, Topshop Unique, H&M.

Brand To Know - Pop & Suki

Best friends Suki Waterhouse and Poppy Jamie have teamed up to create one of the most fun accessories brands that has launched within the last 12 months. Model/actress Suki and her TV presenter BFF have aptly named their brand Pop&Suki. So far the candy-coloured brand has a range of jewellery (think paperclip chains and crystal charms) and 2 super cute bags - the 'Camera' bag and the 'Shopper' tote. The Camera bag is one of the most coveted new bags on the fashion scene, with everyone from Jessica Alba to Paris Hilton, Ashley Benson to Georgia May Jagger regularly being snapped sporting this style. What sets this style apart from others on the market, is the fun customization service on offer. You can opt for varying types of straps: cross body, backpack, wristlet or waist...so whichever is your preferred way to wear a bag this style can be tailored to you. Even more exciting is the option to monogram your bag, with up to 9 letters being printed in a range of fun pastel colours. The 'Camera' bag is priced at $195 plus $40 for customization.
All bags are manufactured in downtown LA and are available online from popandsuki.com

Pantone Colour of 2017 - Greenery

The design worlds holds it's breath for the PANTONE 2017 Colour of the Year...Greenery. This fresh colour of course has it's roots in nature - Spring in particular. The green shade, with yellow undertones, has revitalizing qualities which transcend across several sectors of the creative industry.  After a turbulent 2016, there has never been a more important time to take a step back and appreciate the natural beauty of the world in which we live. This colour looks at how greenery can be injected into urban living spaces, our lifestyle choices and on the runway. Known to be a trans-seasonal shade, greenery will work well adapted into many different colour palettes throughout the course of the year. Sits well with neutral/earthy colours, as well as brighter shades for a lively pop of colour. Here is my Greenery moodboard...

Outfit of The Month - January

For the ultimate winter luxury, opt for a luxe fur coat - real or faux. This beautiful tri-colour style, with vivid blue, is from Copenhagen based brand Saks Potts. Making their runway debut for SS16, this is one of the most sought after brands of the past 12 months and is sure to further increase in popularity in 2017 - so well worth the investment. Dress for comfort in January with a pair of super comfortable straight leg jeans. This style is from Stella McCartney and they are sure to take away the winter blues with their playful printed stars. Team with a chunky knit from Isabel Marant for extra warmth. Keeping the look super casual, wear with practical trainers. I have gone for a rose gold pair from Common Projects, to ensure a high-fashion finish to the outfit. Sticking with the theme of blue, the outfit is completed with one of the biggest 'IT' bags of the past season - the 'Pierce' from J.W.Anderson. Understated and effortlessly chic street style for January. Everything seen is this edit is available from Net-a-Porter.
