Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty

Earlier in the week it was announced that the 'Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty' exhibition will be coming to the V&A Museum in London from March 14th - July 19th 2015. The exhibition was previously on show in 2011 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and due to popular demand it is now coming to London. As one of the most influential designers of our time, it makes sense that the British designer will have his work shown in a major exhibition here in London. The exhibition will show a full spectrum of McQueen's work: from his 1992 graduate show to his final unfinished A/W 10 collection. Savage Beauty will be curated by the V&A's senior curator of fashion Claire Wilcox. The exhibition may be a year away, but it is sure to be a sell out so buy your tickets now so you don't miss out. Tickets are priced at £17.50. Here's a little look at what you can expect to see!

I can also recommend the 'Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty' book, which you can purchase online for around £27.

H&M X Alexander Wang

On Sunday the announcement was made that the latest H&M X Designer collaboration would be with Alexander Wang. In recent years H&M has offered consumers several collaborations with high profile designers, including Maison Martin Margiela and most recently Isabel Marant, this latest collaboration with Alexander Wang is set to be highly anticipated. The Californian born designer who is a firm favourite at NYFW, and also the creative director at Balenciaga, announced the collaboration on his Instagram page, and a party celebrating the collaboration was held at Coachella over the weekend. At only 30 years old, Wang is a designer who greatly appeals to H&M's target demographic, many aspiring to own pieces from his mainline collection. His effortlessly cool collections are already at a more affordable price point compared to many other designers on the bill at NYFW, with most pieces priced between £400 and £900.

So what can we expect to see in the collection? Well we already know that the collection will feature both womenswear and menswear, plus accessories, so there will be a lot to choose from. I'm expecting a predominantly black and grey colour palette, classic everyday basics with a sporty edge, perhaps some asymmetric cuts, a textured tote bag and I would be very surprised if we didn't see a nod to the most coveted piece from his S/S 14 collection - the 'Parental Advisory' sweatshirt.

The Alexander Wang X H&M collection will be unveiled on November 6th...expect to see queues around the block!!!

But for now, I thought I would take a look back at previous designer collaborations with H&M.
Isabel Marant - November 2013
Maison Martin Margiela - November 2012
Versace - November 2011
Lanvin - November 2010
Matthew Williamson - April 2009

Felt Decorations

Just a little something I do in my spare time...making these cute felt decorations for friends and family. I started making these as Christmas presents, as an alternative to the average Christmas tree decoration. Now I make them just as cute little decorations to hang around the house!
Fox

Squirrel
The Original Christmas Robin
With Easter just around the corner, I will no doubt be making more of these Easter themed decorations. Who needs a chocolate Easter egg when you can have one of these cuties?
