MAJOR Seasonal Trend - Feel The Love

You know me, I love colour so you can imagine how much of a treat for the eyes the rainbow trend is. This trend is literally everywhere atm, from the catwalk to the street. You may remember on my blog earlier this year, I spoke about the trend for coloured stripes on apparel. Well this is that trend but taken to the next level. There is actually a very strong social message behind this trend as well. In recent years many countries, including Australia, have changed their 'Marriage Act' in Parliament to allow same-sex couples the right to get married. For many countries, this has been a huge step forward politically, and also for basic human rights and equality. For his final collection for Burberry, Christopher Bailey championed the LGBT youth community and sent model after model down the runway sporting rainbow brights. The infamous Burberry 'check' was also redesigned to incorporate rainbow colours. Also on the runway, Gucci have long been a fan of rainbow stripes regularly creating full head-to-toe looks. This is full on maximalism!
Ok so now you've got the inspo, it's time to start shopping. With this being a major trend for Spring, their is an abundance of rainbow apparel to shop in both the high street stores and luxury brands. If you are looking for high-end pieces, then look no further than: Gucci, Burberry, Alice and Olivia, Attico and House of Holland. If these brands are a little on the pricey side for you, then do not fret. Fast fashion e-tailer BooHoo have gone BIG on the rainbow trend, designing everything from puffa jackets to bodysuits. You can pick up these pieces for under £30, perfect if you don't want to invest too much in this trend. Another great thing about this trend is that rainbow stripes have made their way onto every type of garment and accessories. Bags, shoes, earrings and even phone cases have been adorned with these glorious seven coloured stripes.
