SS17 Trend Report - Colourblock

Colourblocking has been around for a few seasons, but for SS17 designers came up with new creative ways to achieve this look. Over at Balmain, Olivier Rousteing created striking colourblocking with crochet being the technique of choice (crochet is also another key trend for Spring!), Rosie Assoulin used sequins and Paul Smith opted for lace. Another reccuring theme was also the use of burnt orange and sunset hues. Such bold blocks of colour lift a simple silhouette and create a look which is clean and modern. In previous seasons colourblocking has been about pairing different coloured separates together, but for SS17 one piece of clothing encompasses the full trend. Key Designers: Ports, Adam Selman, Arther Arbesser, Escada, Delpozo and Alexis Mabille
