Resort 19 Trend - Cornflower Blue

The softest shade of blue was widely used for Resort 19, emerging as one of the main colour trends of the pre-season. This shade of powder blue felt fresh on the runway and had an air of innocence to it. Any soft shade is going to feel feminine but the grey undertones of this particular colour give it a higher level of sophistication as opposed to say a classic pastel blue, which can sometimes be a bit sharp. It works well when paired with both white and black, so if you are looking to wear this trend for Spring teaming with white will be your go to look but team with black and you can easily wear this trend in Autumn. Louis Vuitton opted for glossy fabrics, whilst in contrast Karla Spetic chose a marl fabric with a gorgeous grainy texture to it. Resort 19 Trend - Typography

The use of typography/branding might not be anything new, but the trend for it has really gained momentum over the past few seasons. It has become somewhat of a trademark for new designers such as Off-White, helping the brand to grow in notoriety thanks to its noticeable branding. This trend is bold and sometimes (unashamedly) brash, it's a surefire way of saying 'look at me, i'm wearing designer'.  The typography prints themselves were largely kept black & white, whilst a few designers opted for bright colours. the trend best lends itself to sporty and more edgy silhouettes, but classic looks were still present.
Designers: DVF, MSGM, Off-White, Valentino, Versace, Versus

If you like typography, then head over to my Pinterest (details below) where I actually have an entire board dedicated to lettering. It's great for inspiration!

Outfit of The Month - September

At the moment I am loving the combination of mustard yellow and black. Yellow is not the easiest of colours to successfully wear, but the golden undertones of mustard make it more flattering on the skin than a brighter shade of yellow. Cropped flares continue to be a huge trend, lengthening the leg they are very desirable. Skimming the leg just above the ankle they look ultra flattering with a pair of pointed toe ankle boots. This contemporary crop is super modern, so fear not if you thought flares were only for 70's fancy dress. Opting for a white pair of boots also makes for a great contrast against the black. In keeping with the black and white styling, the bag combines the 2 colours together. What I love the most about this particular bag from 'Boyy' is the tortoiseshell detail, it sits well next to the mustard on the top. The jacket is from Chloe, and showcases another key trend for the season - contrasting piping on the seams. Completing the look is a necklace from Foundrae and bakerboy cap from Isabel Marant. This outfit is great for day-to-day wear but also appropriate for evening attire thanks to the smart tailored jacket and kitten heeled boots.

Resort 19 Trend - Vacay Prints

You may remember that earlier in the year I documented the Pre-Fall 18 trend for 'Scenic Prints', well move forward two seasons and that trend has developed into high summer vacation prints - i'm talking Monte Carlo meets the French Riviera. Gone are the rural landscapes we saw for Pre-Fall and in are luxury seascapes, fast cars and the all important palm trees. This in quite an intense print trend, in that the prints are large in scale (scaling them down just wouldn't have the same impact) and for that reason makes this a bold trend for Spring. The prints in question are glamorous and evoke feelings of a dream luxury vacation - what more could you want for Spring? Azure blue is a key colour and was seen on all the prints, along with palm green. Designers: Altuzarra, Balmain, Coach, Monse.

Get The Look - Taylor Swift - Reputation (part 2)

Following on from the first part of my Taylor Swift styling edit last week, i'm happy to now bring you part 2. Same as last time, I have styled 4 outfits which I think would be perfect for Taylor to wear during the 'Reputation' Era.
Outfit 1
Monse is a brand that has been on my radar for a couple of years now. They regularly use check prints and I thought that could be a fun spin on the traditional plaid that Taylor wears a lot of. We know that Taylor likes a micro pair of shorts and combined with the interesting layering on this pair I thought they would be a great starting point for this outfit. The top is really fun with it's moon motif, and the sequins are in keeping with what we know Taylor loves. Of course I styled with biker boots, but this time I went for a leopard print pair. An oversized jacket and leather belt bag complete the look.
Outfit 2
Black lace can always be styled to look edgy, and that is what I have done here. This lace top from Off-White can be styled with a bralet underneath. This micro mini leopard print skirt from R13, is another piece which has already been worn by Taylor herself. Ok so lets talk accessories. Taylor recently added flat top sunglasses to her Rep tour merch, so I had to use them for this edit. They come in three colour options and have snakeprint across the top. The backpack is from Charlotte Olympia and has a cat face on it...I think we can all agree Taylor would love it. Back once again to complete the look, are a pair of biker boots and tour merch snake ring.
Outfit 3
Ok can we please just take a moment to acknowledge how perfect this t-shirt would be for Taylor. A cat, wearing sunglasses, on a teacup...yes please! Ripped shorts, in light washed denim, work well with the bright colours on the tee. The pink in the plaid boots, from Ganni, work nicely with the colour of the t-shirt. Continuing to play with the fun factor of this look, I have styled with the iconic heart sunnies from Saint Laurent and smiley face backpack from Anya Hindmarch - a super playful look!
Outfit 4
Bleached plaid, metal eyelets, snake motifs - all the signature Rep era elements are here in this outfit. This skirt, style to looked like a shirt tied around the waist(same as the Alexander Wang one from my last edit) is from Taylor's current favourite brand Faith Connexion. Another great pair of leather biker boots, with pearl detailing on the heels, are from Nicholas Kirkwood, and the the backpack is once again official tour merch.

Which was your favourite look?

You can check out my Taylor Swift style board over on my Pinterest. I add weekly too it, but you can also find lots of old Taylor pics on there too. Details of my Pinterest are below.

Get The Look - Taylor Swift: Reputation (part 1)

Ok so it goes without saying that i'm a huge Taylor Swift fan! With each album she releases, her style changes considerably. With the 'Red' album she often wore micro shorts with slim fitting tops and teamed the outfit with brogues. Taylor also wore lots of pretty floral dresses and classic red carpet gowns. Next came the '1989' era and Taylor's style changed once more. Later she began dressing a little more edgy, dyeing her hair bleach blonde and experimenting with different silhouettes. And then we get to the present day and Taylor's 'Reputation' tour is in full swing. With the help of her stylist, Joseph Cassell, Taylor has been wearing her edgiest looks to date. All her outfits are fully in tune to the theme of her album. Snakeskin/snake motifs have cropped up several times in her latest looks, as has: camo print, plaid and distressed fabric (bleached materials, ripped/frayed hems). She is regularly seen wearing pieces from French brand Faith Connexion, which has become her go to brand of the year. She also regularly wears: Gucci, Alexander Wang, and her own personal rep tour merch. I have put together a number of outfits, which I would love to see Taylor wear during the 'Reputation Era', especially during her meet and greets backstage on her tour. I have split this into Part 1 and Part 2. What do you think of these looks, perfect for Taylor right?
Outfit 1
Taylor was recently spotted wearing this exact sequinned top from Ashish, but I couldn't resist using it myself for the starting point of this outfit. I have teamed it with a pair of cut-out snakeskin ankle boots from Chloe(need these in my life!), plaid bag from Balenciaga and black denim separates. A snake ring from the official tour merch completes the look.
Outfit 2
This era, Taylor has really played with layering pieces and this skirt from Alexander Wang is perfect for that vibe. It is constructed to look like a shirt tied over a skirt and it works perfectly to create an edgy, yet wearable, daytime piece. A loose fitting, ruched, jersey top from Raquel Allegra compliments the double layering on the skirt. The oversized jacket is from Off-White and adds to the 'tough' look that Taylor has been sporting lately. I paired the look with army boots from Gucci and of course a snake motif bag, also from Gucci...I mean I just couldn't resist.
Outfit 3
Eagle-eyed fans will have spotted that Taylor wore a Fausto Puglisi outfit in her 'LWYMMD' music video. She later, wore a custom Puglisi outfit for a recent street style look whilst out and about in New York. With this in mind, I based this look around a pair of printed Fausto Puglisi biker boots. This style of boot has been Taylor's main choice of footwear this era, opting to wear them as part of her tour outfits. The leather mini skirt is super edgy thanks to the thread detailing, it comes from Saint Laurent, as do the snake earrings. Continuing the snake motif theme, the hoodie is from Gucci and clutch bag from Red Valentino.
Outfit 4
This forth and final outfit, is my favourite of this post. I am a huge fan of London-based brand Rockins and I actually own the snake motif skinny scarf seen below. I knew I had to style it up for this outfit. A frayed plaid shirt is perfect for Taylor and teamed with frayed shorts, with lace details, it's a winning combo! One of my favourite elements of this look, is the leather corset from Zana Bayne. It's quite different for Taylor but works really well with her current style. A Gucci bag, with snake clasp, and studded biker boots from Saint Laurent complete the outfit.

Which is your favourite look from this edit?

Part 2 coming next week!

Don't forget that I also have a Taylor style board over on my Pinterest. Here you can find all of her red carpet and street style looks, as well as editorials and candids (details below)
