My best dressed at this event was Emma Stone, she totally nailed this look from head to toe! I also really liked Lupita Nyong'o wearing Elie Saab. Her spliced floral printed gown was one of my favourite Pre Fall 15 looks, so I found it refreshing that someone was brave enough to wear such a bold statement dress to an award show like this. I was surprised how much I liked Claire Danes Marc Jacobs dress.  I think this floor length dress worked better than the shorter version worn on the runway. The detailing on the side is very interesting. My 3 other favourites were: Caitriona Balfe, Rosamund Pike and Keira Knightley...whose maternity style I am loving.

Pantone Colour 2015 - Marsala

Each year Pantone put together a committee of colourists who develop colour palette concepts based on global research. They meet up twice over the course of the year to debate and ultimately pick which hue will be the 'new black' for the following year. The 2015 Pantone Colour is Marsala.

This maroon-ish hue is a sophisticated colour and translates well across several fields of design. Whether it be fashion, interiors or even cosmetics, this hue compliments many different surfaces and fabrics. The rich undertones of this colour make it perfect for fall. It is a timeless colour.

Celebrities including Taylor Swift, Emma Stone and Blake Lively, and Russian fashion editor Miroslava Duma have all successfully worn this colour on the red carpet - wearing brands such as; Gucci, Lanvin and Reem Acra. This colour suits many skin tones and complexions.

Alexa Chung X AG Jeans

One of fashions most sought-after muses, Alexa Chung, has teamed up with AG Jeans for a 21-piece collection. The collaboration see's Chung translate her downtown cool style and her love of the nineties, into an easy to wear everyday capsule collection of largely denim pieces.

An original starting point for the collection was Seventies California, and although the collection didn't eventually go down this route there is still a retro feel. The pieces in the collection are the sort of things you may expect to find in vintage shops, but they still manage to look current. With the range including: dresses, shirts, dungarees, shorts and skirts, there is a good selection of quality basics to choose from. Here's my favourite pieces from the collection.

My Favourites: Sienna Miller, Lupita Nyong'o, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Allison Williams and Camila Alves. I loved Sienna Millers Miu Miu dress, the plunging neckline added sex appeal but did not feel over exposed. I also liked the embellishment on this dress, as we do not often see that much detailed embellishment at these awards shows. Lupita Nyong'o looked radiant opting to wear both colour and print, this chiffon dress was very feminine. Jenna Dewan Tatums dress was cut beautifully and the pale lemon colour perfectly complimented her skin tone. Allison Williams oozed new Hollywood glamour and Camila Alves looked effortlessly elegant.

SS15 Trend - The Seventies

One of the most defining looks seen on the SS15 runway was the 'Seventies'. Everyone from Gucci to Saint Laurent, Alberta Ferretti to Chloe, showcased collections with serious seventies vibes. Suede came out in full force as a fabric of choice for several designers, and fringing, flares and crochet were also popular.

A more flattering seventies silhouette is a billowing dress, take note from these designers as to how to work this style.

Alternatively, why not throwback to the original 70's icons; Francoise Hardy, Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot for style inspiration.

People's Choice Awards 2015 - Red Carpet

Last night the 41st Annual People's Choice Awards took place in LA. Even though I was not that enamoured with many of the looks seen on the red carpet, I have still put together my red carpet round-up. Everyone's Wearing: Dungarees

I'm sure you remember wearing them as a child or seeing photographs of your mum wearing them in the 60's and 70's. Well this vintage garment is back and fashion savvy women can't get enough of them. Its no mean feat to look stylish wearing dungarees, they are certainly a hard trend to pull off. Despite this, you just can't seem to escape them lately...on the catwalk, in shops, on the street. Love them or hate them, this 70's revival trend is set to continue throughout 2015. We saw lots of 70's throwbacks on the SS15 catwalks, so dungarees might just be the perfect wardrobe staple to see you through the next few months.

Some of the most stylish celebrities have got on board with this trend.

To style your dungarees, I suggest keeping colours simple. Opt for a Breton stripe top, or a classic black or white tee or a cotton shirt. Less is more, you don't want to overcomplicate the look. For 90's throwback styling I suggest wearing a slip-on sneaker, pumps/sandals/espadrilles will keep the look casual and heels will make the look super glam. Take inspiration from these street style stars.

I have found some comparable designer/highstreet dungarees, so whether you wish to spend or save on this trend there are dungarees out there for every price point.
