The Best of Summer Gingham

When I think of gingham I am generally reminded of my childhood school uniform, but this season gingham is for grown ups. As one of the prettiest and most feminine lightweight summer fabrics, introducing a few cute gingham pieces into wardrobe will give you an immediate style update. With throwbacks to vintage 50's dresses, Bridget Bardot got married in a pink gingham dress in 1959, this easy breezy fabric choice requires little or minimal styling. If you opt for a gingham dress you can style with a pair of simple flat sandals. Alternatively, an off the shoulder gingham top would look perfect with a pair of white skinny jeans. This look is all about loose silhouettes, after all it is summer and you don't want to feel restricted in your clothing. With all the above in mind, you are now you are ready for sipping cocktails on the French Riviera!

  1. gingham and plaid also look great for accessories. It's one of my most popular bag-lining fabrics. Pat, UK www.paisleypower.com
