Ok so we need to talk about my current obsession...Haim. Yep that's right, I'm unashamedly a massive fan of the LA pop/rock band - both their music and their style. Aside from their two albums constantly playing on repeat, i'm also a huge fan of their personal style. I mean, do you ever just look at people who can effortlessly pull off an incredible look and you wish you could do the same? Well that is how I feel about Haim! All three sisters have their own unique personal style, but cohesively all three distinct looks work together. I thought I would break down their style and show you how you can 'Get The Haim Look'...
Danielle
Danielle's style epitomises that laid back rock'n'roll lifestyle. Black skinny jeans are a wardrobe staple, and vinyl trousers are worn to elevate an outfit. Separates are kept fairly simple, with a classic tailored shirt being a must. No rock'n'roll outfit would be complete without a great leather jacket and Danielle likes to switch between black and metallic options. Skinny scarves have been championed for years by the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger, with Danielle also being a huge fan. Completing the look is a leather cowboy buckle belt, slim cateye sunnies and suede chelsea boots.
Este
Este's style is all about those mod 60's vibes. This means 2 things: a high-waisted mini skirt and a polo neck knit. For the mini skirt vinyl is a great option, but classic checks work well at also incorporating some 70's influences. Such a look need not be over-complicated. Keep colours to a minimum, maybe injecting a stripe for a pop of colour or a coloured blazer for a Spring appropriate outfit. The mod vibes are further added with white accessories...Twiggy eat your heart out. They also add an element of 'quirk' to the look. These Haim girls do love their sunnies, and plastic rectangular styles are perfect!
Alana
As the youngest member of the band, Alana's look is very 90's vintage inspired. Rarely seen without a vintage slogan tee, these t-shirts can be oversized or slimline. If you can't easily get your hands on an authentic vintage tee, do not worry as many high-street retailers have great versions which pay homage to classic vintage styles. Alana also loves a mid-rise pair of mom jeans in light washed denim. Bootcut styles will allow a classic ankle boot to be on show. An oversized bomber jacket is a great alternative to a leather biker, and styles that have embroidered patches add to the vintage look. A practical cross-body bag and classic Ray-Ban rounds complete the look.
