Resort 15 - Part 4

One of my favourite prints from the past 2 seasons, was a pink/black large scale abstract painted floral from Milly Pre Fall 14. For Michelle Smiths Resort collection, the same style florals are yellow and blue on white ground which I equally like. Smith has also continued to use tech fabrics; latticework, power mesh, and lasercut leather, which is fast becoming a signature Milly look. Also worth a mentioning, are the large scale animal prints at Missoni which pack a real punch in vibrant colours on black and white dresses. I always love the colour block combo's at Roksanda Ilincic, the cut of the garments is always interesting as well.

Resort 15 - Part 3

The main collection I have to talk about in this blog post is Moschino. I am loving Jeremy Scott as the Creative Director at Moschino. For his first Resort collection for the brand he looked to the archives of his own namesake brand. See image below. The collection is all about fun and creating talked about pieces, and he has definitely achieved that here.

Here is a selection of more Resort 15 Collections. I can already tell that the Stella McCartney 'Mexican Wrestler Mask' bag will be a must have accessory for the coming season.

Resort 15 - Part 2

Here is Part 2 of my look at the Resort 15 collections. This post includes some of my favourite designers: Erdem, Peter Pilotto and Clover Canyon - all 3 of which always present great use of colour and print. Working in a design studio, I always imagine how the collections will translate onto the red carpet and in stores so I really love Cushnie Et Ochs for the red carpet worthy dresses. There are also several pieces in the Prabal collection that I would wear to work; I love the short, structured dresses.

The 2014 Glamour Awards - Red Carpet

The annual Glamour Awards took place in London last night. Winners on the night included Simone Rocha who took home the Fashion Designer award and Katie Hillier won the Accessories Designer award. Paloma Faith, Alexa Chung, Taylor Schilling, Fearne Cotton, Taylor Swift and Dame Helen Mirren were also amongst the winners taking home one of the coveted awards.
Talking red carpet fashion, I like how at this event we always see a variety of red carpet styles. Some opt for playful/fun looks, some chose classic dresses, whilst other go for statement gowns - really anything goes! Here is a round-up of my favourite red carpet looks from this event.
Mid-Length Dresses
Emily VanCamp - Monique Lhuillier Fall 14 / Alesha Dixon - Peter Pilotto Spring 14
Emma Willis - Roksanda Illincic / Alexa Chung - Christian Dior Resort 15
Dramatic
Paloma Faith - Nicholas Oakwell Fall 13 Couture / Naomi Campbell - Alexander McQueen Spring 14
Metallic
Sarah Hyland - Gucci Resort 14 / Taylor Schilling - Peter Pilotto Fall 14
Short Dresses
Cat Deeley - Matthew Williamson Fall 14 / Sophie Turner - McQ Pre Fall 14
Laure Whitmore - Emanuel Ungaro Spring 14
Long Dresses
Alice Temperley - Temperley London Fall 14 / Natalie Dormer - Matthew Williamson Fall 14
Hayley Atwell - Ermanno Scervino Fall 14
My favourite look from this event was the outfit worn by Emma Willis. I love the colour block combo dress, teamed with a classic black court shoe and a pink lip. The whole look was on trend and sophisticated, but the bright colours kept it fun and fresh for summer.
Which were your favourite looks?

*Collaboration* Natalie Joos for Kipling

Famed model casting agent, Natalie Joos, has teamed up with the Belgian brand Kipling to create a 4-piece travel set in various colour-block combinations. Natalie Joos has been a street style favourite of mine for a while now and I love her blog 'Tales of Endearment'. I have also owned several different Kipling bags over the years.
In the collection you will find: A large suitcase, a carry-on case, a travel tote and a beauty case. The vintage inspired colours compliment each other perfectly and suit the playful and practical aesthetic of Kipling. They are lined with a palm print. The collection is ideal for women on the move, who travel a lot with work. Each case comes with the famous Kipling Monkey keyring but these have a red lips, a signature look of Joos.
Large Suitcase - £194 / Carry On Case - £167
Travel Tote - £102 / Beauty Case - £79

Kobi Levi Footwear

Have you see the amazing work of Kobi Levi? His shoes, dubbed 'Footwear Art', are quite possibly some of the coolest shoes you will ever see. The concept behind each shoe is genius!
After graduating in 2001, Levi worked as a freelance footwear designer but later began designing his own unique, innovative shoes and uploaded them onto his blog. After Lady Gaga opted to wear a pair of his shoes in her 'Born This Way' music video, people from all around the world were placing requests to purchase a pair of his shoes. Subsequently Levi opened a studio in Tel Aviv and began offering his shoes for sale. All his shoes are hand made using the highest quality materials and are made in limited editions. Price: $1500 - $3000. Here are a few of my favourite styles.

Mallard Duck/Flamingo
Wine Glass/Banana

If you love the work of Kobi Levi, and you live in the UK, then why not visit the 'Kobi Levi and the Playful World of Shoes' Exhibition at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery. It is on until July 20th.
