*New Feature* - Global Collective on Pattern Observer

I was so excited on Thursday to see that one of my favourite American design websites 'Pattern Observer' had published a lovely post about my work. Pattern Observer founder Michelle Fifis said that she found my "vibrant use of colour, layering of shapes, and intricate hand-drawn details to be so energizing and inspiring!". This is such a wonderful compliment to receive from a fellow industry professional who I greatly respect for her dedication to all things design related. See below for images of the feature.

The post was also shared by NYC/LA based Digital Print company 'First2Print'

I would like to thank Michelle and Chelsea at Pattern Observer for being so supportive of my work and helping me to promote my design work, I greatly appreciate it!!! Also a big thank you to everyone you liked the post on social media sites.
If you have not yet taken a look at the Pattern Observer website, then you really should. The website is full of incredibly useful tips on how to succeed in the textile industry, improve your work and find inspiring work from other print designers. The website also offers E-Courses, including 'The Ultimate Guide To Repeats'. This self-study course teaches you how to create repeat design using photoshop.

On Trend - Folded Skirts

One of the key styles to emerge from fashion week was the 'Folded Skirt'. Mini skirts have had a modern-day makeover with sharp folds making for a more edgy look. Team your skirt with a classic shirt or sweater, and add a tailored blazer and Chelsea boots for a contemporary London street style look. I would avoid too much colour or print and just keep the overall outfit simple and easy to wear.
I have found several lovely skirts in this style, so whatever your budget you can get onboard with this trend.

Isabel Marant, Elizabeth and James, Carven, Toga
Vanessa Bruno, Helmut Lang, Kenzo, Three Floor

New Brand - Trager Delaney

Designers Kim Trager and Lowell Delaney, who met whilst studying at Central Saint Martins, only recently established their label 'Trager Delaney' but they are already making waves in the fashion industry. The pair who have worked at: CĂ©line, Haider Ackermann and Sonia Rykiel, decided to join forces once they realised that they shared the same ideas regarding the aesthetic of womenswear clothing. The Spring/Summer 13 collection was the design duo's debut collection and was reflective of their 90's childhood, model Arizona Muse fronted the campaign and the collection was promptly picked up by London based stores: Matches and Joseph. The label's second collection followed their distinct aesthetic of being both feminine and timeless.

More recently, model and British Fashion Council ambassador Laura Bailey produced a short film called 'Behemoth' for the brand, and actress Anna Friel chose to wear a Trager Delaney dress to the premiere of one of her movie 'The Look Of Love'. For now the brand are content further establishing themselves in London, but have their sights set on America. You can shop the latest collection online now at matchesfashion.com with prices ranging from £480 - £1650. Phillippa x
